What is a web site builder

A site builder is software that is installed on your web hosting server that allows you to create and edit your website.

The site builder that comes with 123ezy websites allows you to

  • Choose from a large range of website templates (which you can customise)
  • create as many web pages as you want.
  • Create and customise your menus. You can have website menus at the top (horizontal),  or at the site of your website (vertical) just like this one.
  • Insert images into your website pages
  • Insert html for forms and other website scripts
  • Insert hyperlinks from text or images to other parts of your website or even to external websites
  • Insert website forms for clients to contact you
  • Format text the way you like it
  • Choose and change your colour scheme
  • Enter page titles, descriptions and keywords (these are called Meta tags)
  • Optimise your website for Search Engines
  • Insert Javascript and other tools

Accessing & using the website sitebuilder area

All you do is launch your website browser (like Microsofts Internet Explorer).

Type yourdomainname.com.au/zen

Enter your username and password

Do I need an special website design software

You can access and make changes to your website no matter where you are. You can also publish your website from anywhere.

You don't need to learn how to use any complicated website design software like Dreamweaver, FrontPage or Flash.

If you decide that you want to use specialised website design software like Flash, Dreamweaver etc you can still do this (or have your website designer do it) and then publish your website to your web hosting server space.

How do I access my website hosting

Vist your cPanel by typing in www.yourdomainname.com.au/cpanel and type in your username and password.

More than one domain name

Your domain name is very important as far as recognition is concerned, but when it comes to what you actually want do with your domain name, then it is your web site hosting that offers all the internet website design, optimisation, statistics and keyword tools.

A good website designer and Internet marketing professional is also very handy to actually make sure that your website earns you money and helps your customers.

A good website hosting account actually provides all the software to help you create and edit what is on your website (called a website builder), as well as fast and easy installation of the many software tools that more and more website owners are using today, things like Forums, Blogs, Email newsletters, forms, live help and more...

How it works

Here a list of steps that you can take to start from scratch and end up with a website presence:

  • Getting Started:
Choose your domain name (eg. 123ezy.com) and the email address(es) that you would like to have at your domain name, eg. steve@123ezy.com and then complete a 123ezy website hosting application form.

  • Website Menus:
Write some information about each service or product you provide. Think about the name that you would like to give to each of the pages. It is best to write this in a Microsoft Word document.

  • Free website design training:
EzyLearn provides you with free online videos on how to use the 123ezy website builder.

Go through each of the videos so that you have a good idea of what you can actually do with your new website design tools.

You'll find that the website builder is almost like using a word processor.

  • Speak to your website designer:
Included in the cost of your website is 3 hours of website design consulting by an experienced website designer.

Organise a time to meet this person and provide them with the information and images that you would like to have on your website.

You'll receive some one to one training and guidance for future steps to take in the development of your internet marketing.

  • Images and animations:
You may feel that you'd like a professional website designer to finish your website or add fancy, flashy components to your website.

Contact us to book an appointment with a professional website designer or a graphic designer.

  • Keywords and keyphrases:
Once you have the look and feel of your website the way you like, it is a good idea to have each web page optimised for search engines.

This process involves working out all the keywords or phrases that you believe your prospective clients will use to search for you.

  • Get into Search engines:
Unfortunately this doesn't always happen automatically so you'll need to get to know the major search engines and website directories and verify your website with them and make sure that you have a site map for them to follow.

  • Keeping people at your website:
A good website designer can provide you with tools like email newsletters, forums, blogs, livehelp, refer to a friend and many more scripts that provide your website visitors with useful tools that will keep them on your website and coming back for more.

Most of these scripts and website marketing tools are available free of charge with a 123ezy website and all you need to do is install them or have your website designer do it for you and teach you how to use them.
