How much does a website cost?

Althought the concept of website may seem complicated, it is rather simple. Here are the steps:

  1. Choose a domain name (buy it - or we can do that for you)
  2. Organise website hosting (we use 123ezy website hosting - a service provided by EzyLearn Pty Ltd)
  3. Decided what you want the menu options to be (ie. how many pages do you want and what do you want to say on those pages).
  4. Learn how to use the SiteBuilder that comes with the 123ezy website hosting, OR
  5. Have a 123ezy accredited website designer create your website for you.
  6. Optimise your website for Search Engines (also called Search Engine optimisation)
  7. Make your website sticky (use Forums, newsletter and blogs to keep people coming back)

Here are the costs:

  1. Domain name is $20 per year for US domain (ends in .com) or $50 per 2 years for Australian domain name.
  2. 123ezy website hosting (may change, but at time of writing is $99 setup and then $24.90 per month)
  3. Website designer (anywhere from $40 per hour to $120 depending on what you want done).
  4. Search engine optimisation (speak to 123ezy)

How it works

Here a list of steps that you can take to start from scratch and end up with a website presence:

  • Getting Started:
Choose your domain name (eg. 123ezy.com) and the email address(es) that you would like to have at your domain name, eg. steve@123ezy.com and then complete a 123ezy website hosting application form.

  • Website Menus:
Write some information about each service or product you provide. Think about the name that you would like to give to each of the pages. It is best to write this in a Microsoft Word document.

  • Free website design training:
EzyLearn provides you with free online videos on how to use the 123ezy website builder.

Go through each of the videos so that you have a good idea of what you can actually do with your new website design tools.

You'll find that the website builder is almost like using a word processor.

  • Speak to your website designer:
Included in the cost of your website is 3 hours of website design consulting by an experienced website designer.

Organise a time to meet this person and provide them with the information and images that you would like to have on your website.

You'll receive some one to one training and guidance for future steps to take in the development of your internet marketing.

  • Images and animations:
You may feel that you'd like a professional website designer to finish your website or add fancy, flashy components to your website.

Contact us to book an appointment with a professional website designer or a graphic designer.

  • Keywords and keyphrases:
Once you have the look and feel of your website the way you like, it is a good idea to have each web page optimised for search engines.

This process involves working out all the keywords or phrases that you believe your prospective clients will use to search for you.

  • Get into Search engines:
Unfortunately this doesn't always happen automatically so you'll need to get to know the major search engines and website directories and verify your website with them and make sure that you have a site map for them to follow.

  • Keeping people at your website:
A good website designer can provide you with tools like email newsletters, forums, blogs, livehelp, refer to a friend and many more scripts that provide your website visitors with useful tools that will keep them on your website and coming back for more.

Most of these scripts and website marketing tools are available free of charge with a 123ezy website and all you need to do is install them or have your website designer do it for you and teach you how to use them.
